March already??
This has been one busy 6 months. Byron is almost a year old (next week!). I'm unfortunately going to miss his birthday due to business travel :-(. I'm very bummed about this. Other dog news, we are getting a new dog, Ashton. He is a black Great Dane. He is just 2 weeks old and SO adorable, but aren't all 2 week old puppies adorable? Hopefully we will make it out to the breeders in a couple of weeks and get some photos of him. I wonder what Byron is going to think when we take him home for the first time....
Enough puppy news. The past few months have been very busy for us. I have been working over time and we still have school going on. To make things even more busy, we bought a house! It is a fabulous house. Super duper fabulous. 4000 sq ft with a 2000 sq ft unfinished basement (we hope to finish that off in 5 years or so). We have a lake ("glorified pond") directly behind our house so Byron can go swimming. The landscaping needs a little work and we have to replace all of the carpets, but that isn't too bad because we got it for a steal and I enjoy doing stuff to the house. We are going to replace the flooring in one room (maybe more) with hardwood and we are going to do it all ourselves. The carpet we are going to leave to the experts. That is way too easy to mess up. I am excited to do work on the house. I can't wait to pick paint and get to painting the interior and re-staining the exterior of the house. I am excited to put in a patio too. I think I want to do something with pavers and I would love to do it ourselves, but I am a bit timid since it is something that we have never done before. We need to do some work on the landscaping and extend out the down spouts because they literally end at the house. We need to bury the extensions but I guess we need to call the utility companies first so they can mark where we can't dig.
Anywho, I am just rambling. Happy Friday the 13th.
